Theatre and Drama Club

Welcome to the Stage!

At Valorous Academy, we believe theatre is more than memorizing lines – it’s about discovering your voice, building confidence, and using your God-given creativity to inspire others. Our Theatre Program and Afterschool Drama Club provide a welcoming space for students to explore acting, stagecraft, and storytelling while developing skills that last a lifetime.

Through engaging performances, collaborative rehearsals, and opportunities to serve behind the scenes, students lead to express themselves with clarity, courage, and excellence – all while honoring Christ through the arts.

Meet the Director

Christy O’ Connor, our Music, Theatre Arts Teacher and Drama Club Director, brings a wealth of experience in both performance and education. Passionate about nurturing young talent, she believes in the transformative power of theatre to shape confident, compassionate leaders.

She holds a Bachelor of Art in Theatre with a Minor in ASL from Northeastern State University. She also attended Los Angeles City College and the Los Angeles Theatre Academy Intensive Program for Theatre and Technical Art.

These academic foundations opened the door for Mrs. O’ Connor to work in the professional theatre industry in Los Angeles. At the heart of all her work is a consistent calling: to serve people, draw out their God-given gifts, and create meaningful connections through storytelling. With over 20 years of ministry experience – particularly with children and students – Mrs. O’Connor also partnered with local homeschool co-ops to offer theatre classes and performances. All of this has been a part of a long term dream – to bring a vibrant theatre program to families on the north end of the beach.
